Sometimes failure results in the death of the person being tested and other times it results in the death of someone else with which the person being tested has a previous relationship. In the storyline of the movies, the traps are designed to be a kind of “test” that gives the victim a method of escape (at least in theory) but usually requires a great cost.

All of the traps are actual objects, not CGI, but obviously, precautions have to be taken to keep the actors safe in real life. The mechanical traps engineered by Jigsaw and his proteges are probably the most well-known element of the “Saw” series. As your team progresses you can make the drill more challenging by moving the defender cone up and forcing them to run faster to defend the shooter.įor more drills like this and tips from our Nike Basketball Camp Directors, check out our Nike Basketball Camp Tips. All great horror franchises need a memorable villain, and the “Saw” series is centered on a serial killer named John Kramer, known as the “Jigsaw Killer” or simply “Jigsaw.” Rather than killing his victims outright, the Jigsaw Killer deployed various traps that he calls “tests” or “games.” The more you incorporate this drill into your practices and pre-game warm-ups, the more you will notice an improvement in your team's ability to quickly transition from one point to the next. Focus on making sure each player maintains their footwork and stance. When the coach yells "Go!", each player will run up to their cone and then transition into either shooting the ball or defending the shooter. The defender cone will be in line with the top of the key and the ball handler cone will be in line with the center of the key. Next, place two cones perpendicular to each line. The defender is the player closest to the basket. One is the defender and the second is the player with the ball. To set up the drill, start two lines at the baseline on the same side of the basket.
